About Supporting Health
The rationale
Our purpose is to offer to provide general/personal medical services (GP services), on a short term basis, to patients of practices which are out of contract with NHS England. The aim will be to maintain and support the patient list, provide leadership to the staff and sustain and improve the practice.
The service will be commissioned by NHS England, on the basis of an agreed Service Level Agreement. Only in exceptional circumstances will we provide services for a period of longer than six months. We will not apply for any long term, permanent contracts.
Operating plan
The Company will provide employment and leadership, both clinical and managerial, in order to maintain current staff and ensure stability within the practice.
Clinical leadership for each individual project will be provided by a nominated Medical Director appointed by the Board. It is expected that the Medical Director will spend a minimum of two sessions per week in the practice, in addition he or she may provide some clinical sessions.
The Medical Director is directly responsible to the Board of the Company and will ensure the practice is run according to the following principles:

- Continuous quality improvement
- A focus on patient information and communication
- A team approach to healthcare.
